Favorite Bible Verse

I think different Bible verses speak to us at different points in our lives.

I remember, when I was desperately searching for a job and unsure of what my future held... I grasped to this verse:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11

What an awesome reminder to turn to God with anything and everything!

The verse that has been on my desk at work lately is this one:

"Be on guard.  Stand firm in the faith.  Be courageous.  Be strong.  Do everything with love."
1 Corinthians 16:13-14

I just love how we're encouraged to be strong and courageous in our faith, no matter the circumstances.  And after such a bold charge... we're asked to do everything with love.

I love how the words courageous.... strong.. and love are all tied together in that verse... because loving the Lord and each other is our greatest charge on this Earth.  And it almost always take a lot of courage to do that on our end, no matter what.

Three Things

There are three things I just keep coming back to.

Three things..... I want.

I really, really want.

At the top of my list is this.... a Nikon D90.  Beautiful camera.  I'm ready to have a big girl camera- no more point and shoot for me!

The second... this Swiss Army watch.  I've been wanting a new watch for a long time now, and I think this one is classy and perfect for me.

Because I'm classy like that!

And last... I join the world in wanting one of these.

I debated a long time about it.

But... 2 things won me over.

Books.  I would read lots of books on my ipad.

And... GIANT Words with Friends games.

Those are good reasons, right?

Midnight Cake

Today is his birthday.
Happy birthday, my love!

Last night, we celebrated at midnight with this:

And it... was... delicious.  Funfetti.  Don't hate- it's one of his favorites.

I baked a cake.

I waited up until 12:30p.  (He doesn't get off work until 11p usually.)

I made him close his eyes and sit on the couch.

And I sang happy birthday.

And... I forgot to light the candles.

So we did it all over again.... with the candles lit.  :)

Happy 26th, B!

Me & "T"

I have a love/hate relationship with this guy.

And since I'm hoping to run this in a couple of months... we're about to get really intimate.

Really intimate.

Eventually, I'll run outside.

But for now... it's just me... and "T".

("T" being the treadmill.)
Did it insult you that I just explained that?

How are you staying in shape this summer?

Or... are you just eating a lot of this?

Because.... I did.  This weekend.

I hate bathing suits,

*Crackle Crackle*

*Crackle Crackle*

Hello?  Is anyone out there?

I'm blogging from the depths of the jungle. I left Tulsa at 5:30pm... and somehow, I crossed the ocean and I'm deep in the heart of the Amazon.

This land has a deep hatred for all things AT&T.  Cellular service is forbidden.

I hear there is a lake here, but I have yet to see it in the pitch black.

All I can hear are chirps.  From voracious insects of every species, I suspect.

We have electricity... but for how long, no one knows.

Send help immediately.

Oh, and margaritas.

Boom Boom Pow

I hope everyone has an amazing 4th of July!

I'm taking off in just a few hours for our annual family weekend at the lake.

You know what that means... plenty of videos and pictures to share next week!

Have a wonderful and SAFE holiday!

God Bless America!
